CORP
MEMBER INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION
The San Francisco Urban Service Project
(SFUSP) is a service and leadership development program for young
adults age 20-26 from diverse backgrounds. It's designed to provide
its participants with the opportunity, training, and
support to work with youth in either a San Francisco community-based organization or public school. SFUSP aims to empower Corps
Members to work towards meeting the needs of San Francisco
children and youth by providing high quality public service and by
creating opportunities for young people to contribute positively
to their own communities.
The SFUSP Corps Member position is an
9-month full-time paid internship that will challenge individuals
to grow as socially-sensitive leaders, critical thinkers,
community problem solvers, and life-long advocates for children,
youth, and their families.
Corps Members
work in pairs for the duration of the program at one of 4 sites depending on
skills and interests. Each site focuses on after school or out of school programming, varying depending on the sites' needs: this programming may include youth leadership development, academic enrichment,
